PCT Communicator Assignment

2. The article is about Cheryl Strayed who wrote a best-selling book called "Wild". The article is about the making of the movie, what obstacles they went through to make the movie, and how the people will react to it.
3. First, I learned that John Ptak, a PCTA donor and volunteer who lives in Los Angeles and works inthe film industry, has helped them navigate the conplicated world of movie production and promotion with an eye toward ensuring that the PCTA is well considered. Second, upon hearing of the plans for a film adaptation of the book, to star Reese Witherspoon, we approached the producers at Fox Searchlight last fall and offered their help with the production. Lastly, Cheryl is a great writer who happened to write a best-selling memoir about her time on the trail.
4. One thing I learned from the article is because of logistics of bringing in truckloads of filming equipment and supplies to remote locations, it was simply impossible to film many scenes on the real PCT, so they helped scout locations and design accurate-looking signs for scenes that had to be shot away from the actual trail. Another interesting thing I learned from the article is because of the book and the early publicity about the movie, were already fielding calls from the media and from people who want to get out on the PCT.
5. Two unanswered questions that I have after I read the article are what strategy did they use to make their work the main priority and what could be some of the downsides of the trail?
6. Two words that are critical to understand the article are publicity and self-reflection. Publicity mrans the act of attracting the media attention and gaining visibility with the public. Publicity is important, because it helps build credibility, helps any business stand out and make it nore noticable, and it increases fame of thr company. Self-reflection means time spent in analyzing your own character and beliefs. Self-reflection is important, because you can gain a better understanding of your own emotions, what you are good at, and what you are not good at. When you have a better understanding, you become better at adapting to change and difficult situations.
7. The connection I made between the article is that I remembered that how producers make a movie, but they have to hold off on it, because of the heavy rain for weeks. When that happened, it didnt come out on the release date that it was already set to come out.
