A Lesson Before Dying Chapter 5 Reflection

I got very emotional when Grant was teaching the kids. Grant wanted to teach them to not end up like Jefferson, but I think he is teaching them in a hard way. I understand that he is trying to help them, but beating and pressuring them is not going to help them really understand. Grant should have apologized to Jefferson's cousin. Im anxious to know what Henri Pichot wants to talk to Grant about.

This chapter talks about Grant and when he was in school with an old friend of his named Antoine. I really see how race really effect how they were living back then. As I learn that Grant and Antoine become aware how far African Americans get with education, it never ends. Thid makes me feel bad for the black community back then but also amazing to see that they want to make a change.
